Tong's Pivot Turns to Freedom follows the path of a disillusioned doctor who ultimately finds inspiration through dance...While stories of characters finding their true selfhood through artistic expression aren't brand new, Tong provides a degree of originality through the central character's profession and status as an immigrant. Although many realizations Leonard arrives at throughout the novel are rather on-the-nose, readers will undoubtedly root for him to find happiness.
